The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Start by calling the business office of the hospital(s) where you received your medical care. They may be able to put you on a monthly payment plan interest-free or reduce the amount you owe.
Then call the Health and Human Services department of the county you live in. If for whatever bizarre reason the hospitals are in a different county (like if you got injured on vacation) call that county too and ask if they have any kind of assistance program for medical care.
Once you have exhausted these two options, then you might need to start shopping for loans, but be forewarned that there aren't special bank loans for medical care. it would just be a personal loan or line of credit through a regular old credit union or bank.
Feral on
every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.
