Can anyone suggest some good trance, or techno, or house or whatever the fuck it's called? I'm kinda starting to get into techno as a genre.
edit: Keep in mind that I like stuff with really high energy and pulse.
I picked up a Digitalism album a few months back, and I'm enjoying it quite a bit.
that's not really high energy though
yeah, any Tiesto compilation. They all start to sound the same after a while though.
The Godskitchen Classics compilation was good. First disc had some classic trance anthems, second disc was hardcore (not really my style), and the third disc had some nice house on it.
Carte Blanche, Silence, As The Rush Comes and Blue Fear are some songs that might be up your alley.
purchasing music outside of your computer is a thing of the past
I disagree. Buying music on iTunes is not a good investment, seeing as the files are such terrible quality.
I'd rather go out, buy the CD, and then rip it FLAC.

Bit Rate: Where possible, we encode our MP3 files using variable bit rates for maximum audio quality and smaller file sizes, aiming at an average of 256 kilobits per second (kbps). Using a variable bit rate allows us to allocate a higher bit rate to the more complex sections of music files while using a smaller bit rate for the less complex sections. The average of these rates is then calculated to produce an average bit rate for the entire file that represents the overall sound quality. Some of our content is encoded using a constant bit rate of 256 kbps. This content will have the same excellent audio quality at a slightly larger file size.

and DRM free
Yeah, Amazon is good, but unfortunately it's not available to international customers

that's your problem for living in another dimension
since, you know Australia is where the 90s went after they were over in the us
unless you are archiving hard to find jazz records from the 30s and 40s or something
FLAC sounds amazing on my COWON D2. I've never listened to lossless on a PMP until now.
If you try listening to Lossless files on an iPod, you're sort of wasting your time.

What kind of music do you listen to?
Anything and everything. Rock, rap, classical, etc etc.

I'll give you classical, but on most rock and rap, over 320 is a waste.

I guess ripping Daft Punk to a lossless codec was pretty pointless then

Yeah, I don't really understand how he can call it pointless. If you can hear the difference, then there's your reason to rip it to FLAC.
I can hear the differences, so I rip to FLAC.
Haha. Truth be told I like Postal Service way better than Death Cab, but sometimes, you're just in the mood to listen to some chill shit, and Death Cab certainly fits the bill.

In different area codes.
