Holst is pretty good. I used to listen to The Planets when I was a wee thing. My favourite piece of "classical" music is The Rite of Spring by Stravinsky, though.

It is for a ballet yes, but I put classical in quotation marks because I'm too lazy to learn all the styles of music.
Also, there was a riot in the theatre where it was first performed.
I am pretty much obsessed with the Rite of Spring. I own ~15 recordings of it and I have a copy of the score. I absolutely adore it and a lot of Stravinsky's work.
I learned an Italian song by him recently. It was really neat and was written in a great range for me and is also cool because no one's ever heard of it (he wrote very little music for voice and what he did write was mostly in German).
