Graphic Violence regrets to inform you that Secret Spider-Man cannot make it this year. He is indisposed this morning
with mourning following his mother figure Aunt May's unfortunate breakfast choice of blueberry pancakes (
Gwen liked blueberry pancakes.) and decaffeinated coffee (
Gwen liked decaffeinated coffee.). And so began the feeble man's seemingly ceaseless repose atop the Brooklyn Bridge, a vigil that dually marks the frailty of the human body in the face of mere gravity and the inability of the human mind to fully compute and resolve even the simplest of losses (The equation is Spider-Man - Gwen = M.J., you fool!).
But fear not, little ones! Santron is committed to fulfilling all of your holiday needs with the cold mechanical efficiency that best befits this, the most wonderful time of year. Santron places no sentimental value on breakfast concoctions. Santron has never had a girlfriend. Therefore, Santron's anonymous exchange of gifts in accordance with winter rituals cannot be stopped!
SUBMIT OR DIE!
To submit to the Secret Santron Sign-Ups, act in accordance with the following steps.
Step 1: E-mail pertinent information to Santron by NOVEMBER 17TH.
To participate in Secret Santron, send an e-mail with your forum name as the subject to
SecretSantron@gmail.com by
NOVEMBER 17TH.
The e-mail body should contain your full mailing address and real name. Some places do not deliver mail to people with names like "HankScorpio12321", so be brave and dispense with all anonymity. Also make sure your address is complete so that there are no difficulties later down the line.
Santron will confirm receipt of all e-mails and subsequently note your participation on the front page, for your peace of mind. If there is anything wrong with the information in your e-mail, Santron will note the problem and demand a resolution.
Incomplete e-mails will be judged as non-entries and terminated if they are not corrected by the sign-up date of
NOVEMBER 17th, so get it right the first time!
Step 2: Receive e-mail. Gift target acquired!
Sometime after the closing of sign-ups, you will receive an e-mail from Santron containing all the information you need to send a present to your very own gift recipient. This should include a forum name, a real name, and a complete mailing address. If any of these items are missing or incomplete, it is integral that you mention the problem through e-mail as soon as possible.
If you do not receive an e-mail containing your gift recipient's mailing information, it is integral that you mention the problem through e-mail as soon as possible.
Santron will deal with all glitches as swiftly as possible.
Step 3: Purchase gift and deliver it post-haste.
What you buy is largely up to your discretion, but there are a few important guidelines to note.
First, the suggested minimum for a gift is a single back issue. There is some flexibility to this rule, but most it is definitely expected that the total value of whatever package you send will equal, in the eyes of the recipient, that of a reasonably enjoyable single back issue. If you cannot afford to spend that much on a stranger, then please reconsider your participation.
Conversely, there is no suggested maximum value. You can give more than one back issue, or you can give something that isn't a back issue at all (trade paperbacks, hardcovers, action figures, DVDs, videogames, statues, clothing, and anything else with a connection to the interests of the Graphic Violence forum). Go crazy if you want, but be aware that those who exercise no restraint may in turn receive a gift that pales in worth to their own peerless act of generosity. Santron does not mean to dissuade you from fully embracing the holiday spirit, of course. Santron just doesn't want you to come away disappointed. Anyone who derives joy simply from the act of giving need not worry.
Also, please limit yourself to tasteful gifts. That means no pornography, no objects with racist or otherwise discriminatory overtones, and nothing that would otherwise be objectional to anyone who could conceivably be participating in Secret Santron. Some of us have parents, some of us are parents, and some of us are ourselves sensitive, and nothing ruins the holidays like an uncomfortable conversation about a strange gift from a strange man or woman you met on the internet.
Finally, deliver the damn thing.
THE DEADLINE FOR DELIVERY OF YOUR PRESENT IS JANUARY 7TH. Keep in mind that it will be harder and harder to get mail delivered in a timely fashion as Christmas nears, so please mail your gifts as quickly as you can so they arrive without incident.
If you need to deliver to someone outside the U.S. and are stateside yourself (or are outside the U.S. yourself and need to deliver to someone stateside), it may be easier to purchase a gift for them through their Amazon.com affiliate. In doing so, you will circumvent international shipping charges and have your gift arrive just a little sooner. This is just a recommendation, though, and it's purely up to to you!
Step 4: Receive gift, act accordingly.
Santron is not your mother, so Santron will not demand you say thank you. Nonetheless, it is encouraged that you at least acknowledge receipt of your gift, if only so your Secret Santron knows their package was not lost in the mail or to mutants. If you feel the need to express boundless gratitude for your bounty, though, by all means express it. Everyone likes that sort of thing, even robots.
If you have not received a gift within a reasonable frame of time, make this known to Santron and on the forums. Santron will note it and your Secret Santron, likewise, should take note and either state that the item is in fact en route or get off their asses and make it to the post office as soon as possible.
Finally...
Just embrace the spirit of giving that comes with every exchange of this sort. This a yearly thing because it's a whole lot of fun, and as long as we all enter this intending to get great gifts for each other, everyone will come away happy.

We're tag teaming this bitch.
I am just informing you so if you get a PM from me with your partner, you don't freak out.

PARKER, YOU'RE FIRED! <-- My comic book podcast! Satan look here!
I'll save you the weeks it'd take for you to find it
(it's deadpool)
Santron encourages everyone to participate, with the exception of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
However, some accounts, specifically those with low post counts or recent join dates, may be regarded with suspicion and subsequently barred from Secret Santron following careful consideration and the consultation of a mod.
Also, you do need to e-mail SecretSantron@gmail.com with your real name and full mailing address to be included. Simply posting on the board will not suffice.
Are there evil robotic ways to determine what our secret target might like/not already have?
Sounds good. Recent join date shouldn't be a problem, but I'll admit don't post as much as most. Anyway I love comics and wanted to do a secret santa through the forums this year so I figured this would be the best one.
Oh, and a Secret Santron would not be remiss if he or she purchased the Black Panther vol. 4 trade for me. You know, if he or she wanted to be all awesome and stuff is all I'm saying. :P
NOTE: I can't guarantee you won't get the Sentry trade from me along with something else.
I'm In.
motherfucker
Santron recommends stalking the targets of your goodwill LIKE THE CLUMSY ANIMALS THEY ARE. Dig through their post history. Get into their heads. Discover THEIR WEAKNESSES and buy them a gift that BREAKS THEIR FEEBLE HUMAN HEARTS.
Such is the spirit of the season.
why are the santas always marvel characters
what about bat-santa
Santron needs you to e-mail him with your address before you get added to the list. This goes for everyone else who has said "in" but hasn't sent an e-mail as well.
Santron just happened to get the job. If you like Bat-Santa so much, get him to do it next time! Regardless, for now, SANTRON IS ALL YOU HAVE.
Keith e-mailed Santron before Santron last edited the list.
Ah, I see it now. Also, an e-mail from Sharp101.
Now, prepare to be assimilated into the writhing, thousand armed beast that is the spirit of giving.
I also set my gmail to forward the Santron e-mails to my main account so I wouldn't have to switch all the time.
Evidently there's some sort of delay that goes with that.
This delay is apparently a 35 minute one.
I've got friends, and that's a fact.
Like Agnes, Agatha, Jermaine, and Jack.
My hat. Let me toss it into the ring.
Casanova, Invincible, Walking Dead, Fables, Jack of Fables, Doktor Sleepless, New X-Men, X-Factor, X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Thunderbolts, Black Summer, The Sandman (all-time favorite), The Sandman: Endless Nights, Death: High Cost of Living, Death: Time of Your Life, Runaways, Captain America, Fell, Desolation Jones, Immortal Iron Fist, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Umbrella Academy, Watchmen, Stormwatch, Planetary, All Star Superman, Animal Man, Doom Patrol, Invisibles, Arkham Asylum, 52, Green Arrow: Year One, Bone, Nova, Annihilation: Conquest, Kingdom Come, Gutsville, Astounding Wolf-Man, Marvel Zombies, Ultimate Spider-Man, House of M, Mice Templar, Proof, The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born, Doctor Strange: The Oath, Irredeemable Ant-Man, Avengers: The Initiative, All Star Batman & Robin, 100 Bullets, Global Frequency

I'm actually more excited about getting the name I have to buy for and doing some detective work. Oh well, hopefully that list helps out whoever gets me.
That is how I am rolling.
Deep meaningful story pieces or just fun old stories with things like Batman throwing a car battery at a villain?
This is my conundrum.
I will wait to see who I get before deciding this.
Santron if you get an email from a Zack it's me.
Please resend correspondence!
The subject lines of the e-mails in Santron's mailbox double as a list of participants, so it is integral that all e-mails follow the same format. It will make things much easier when match-making.
