My graphics card packed it in at the BYOC, I can't run any 3dgames without massive artifacts, tried 4 different driver versions and everything short of a windows reinstall.

I am going to beg the nvidia guys tomorrow for a lots of raffle tickets for the 7800 draw.

    Bummer.

There's four of us playing in the BYOC room, and someone is usually out doing something at PAX. If you'd like to borrow on of their computers, stop on by.

Where are we? Go in the front door and keep walking straight. We're the last four computers in that row.

Colors are red, blue, white, then another red one.

    Good luck with your raffle.

I suppose you've tried just reseating the video card and checking to make sure the fans are actually on?

If you've not gotten this resolved, feel free to find PAX staff, there's some pretty knowledgeable people working in this room.

Figured it out finally. You know how on the 9800 pro the heatsink is held to the GPU by those little plastic pegs?....yeah, one came out. I am suprised I could still play, albeit with artifacts, without frying the whole thing.

I popped it back in, securely, and no problems at all.
