Interesting spin is that this guy eluded to what he was going to do on Youtube the night before. Here's a mirrored copy of his youtube page:

http://retecool.com/uploads/mirrordir/Sturmgeist89.htm

Don't have much else to add except for the above article. Sorry the original OP was so lacking, I didn't want duplicates made.

How long until YouTube is blamed for this?

What I think is somewhat ironic is the dude goes off on his youtube page against mass-media, but leaves this youtube diatribe for people to connect to and read. As well, he left a "press release" for lack of a better word on rapidshare!

Latest information has 8 victims: headmaster, 2 girls, 5 boys. The killer apparently shot himself and is in critical condition.

Don't worry. I'm sure that ultimately they will choose to blame America and not Rock and Roll.

1984? Fahrenheit 451? The Republic? Of course, he's not a psycho! By murdering his headmaster and fellow students, he's striking out against the authoritarian regime! Of course, he lives in Finland, where there is no authoritarian regime.

That, however, can be easily swept under the rug by making vague allusions to the Sons of Liberty. It didn't stop them, after all.

Nietzsche + High school + shitty weather nine months out of the year = school shootings.

Is it alright to trivialize the shooter like this? I'm not entirely sure I'm OK with it. I mean, I want to be, because reading that YouTube profile thing made me laugh out loud more than a few times, but isn't this exactly what's creating dipshits like this? They can't deal with the fact that they're pretty insignificant, so they act out in a way that makes them feel significant.

And then kill themselves like the cowardly fucks that they are. These kids should be barely a blip, their names not remembered. Give them no noteriety, mention the tragedy of the dead and wounded and list the killers name as coward and be done with it.

The shooter actually failed to kill himself. "Critically wounded" could mean a lot of things, so who knows how he shot himself, but apparently he couldn't just man up and eat the barrel.

It's ok to trivialize him. Most people can and do deal with it with no ill effects. Only cowards and people who suck have this extreme violent outbreaks. It can't be blamed on the people at school. It's a combination of his mental ability, how he was raised, how easy it is for him to be violent, and how easily he was fooled into taking all this "damn the man" shit too seriously by books and media.

I got in a lot of fights during high school and elementary school, and I can assure you that 90% of those were because I was taking myself too seriously. External locus of control FTW. This kid blamed everything around him in that profile.

Think about the press that columbine incident had compared to this one. It was all you heard about for weeks and weeks. Faculty had special code announcements to warn others of a similar event taking place. Students would practice evacuations etc. I doubt that this sees half of all stuff. Locally its gonna be a tragedy, globally I don't see it picking up a lot of steam.

Which is good in my eyes brandon. Remember the dead, but fuck the shooter have him be nothing if he lives throw him in prison forever and forget about him. The school should take whatever extra precautions they can to get stronger security if that is even needed. Sometimes you just can't plan away a psycho.

Oh I considered it alright. Well, maybe not in any serious way, like making plans or anything, largely just the immediate reaction along the lines of "I wish I could hate you to death!", and the odd fantasy of pummelling someone twice my size into submission. Real emo kid stuff I guess.

Of course, whenever I had had a bad time of it, I'd just load up Doom, Syndicate or Mortal Kombat and vent a bit. Honestly I think that having an outlet like that helped a lot. Gaming used to be a bit of an escape for me, like reading but with more BFG's.

Gaming, or really anything as an outlet, is tenuous at best. Catharsis doesn't vent anger, it just reinforces aggressive behavior.
