Not sure if the Technology forum is a better place for this thread, but I'll ask here anyway. My new position at work has me working far more comfortably than where I was previously, but it also leaves me with very little do do during the long hours of the day. I've been visiting the same handful of sites on this computer, and I need more websites I could visit periodically.

Basically, just list your favorite websites that are updated frequently. Any category will do as long as it's interesting, funny, whatever. Just make sure it's worksafe, or at least provides warning for NSFW material.

The sites I visit regularly are:

neogaf.com: For the game news.

Penny-arcade.com: For the forum (love you guys).

wikipedia.org: For knowledge.

aintitcool.com: For movie news.

toonzone.net: For animated discussions and news.

dvdtalk.com: DVD reviews.

4chan.org: (at home, never at work)

The rest are just commonly known sites like IGN, 1up, and various forums. So I'm hoping you guys can help expand my folders a bit.

    Try http://www.stumbleupon.com/
You specify what categories/subjects interest you, then you install a toolbar with a "Stumble" button. When you click that button, it'll send you to a random site recommended by other people with similar interests as you. Should be able to find something that interests you that ways.

Oh right, I tried that a couple of times, but wasn't very thrilled by the sites I would stumble into. I guess it's worth a try now, though, considering my boredom here.

Find some blogs you like? News and reviews get pretty tiring after a while. Try something you can laugh at.

For years, I was a regular reader of James Lileks, a Midwestern humourist. He has a blog, does podcasts, and his site itself is just packed with good stuff. You really can't go wrong with anything from the Institute of Official Cheer - specifically, the Gallery of Regrettable Food and Interior Desecrations. It's sarcastic, it's mocking, but there's a gentleness behind it, too. This is the stuff the author grew up with, and even though it's terrible, he loved it.

popurls is a good place to see new things.

stumbleupon is good, but keep in mind you'll see a ton of badly drawn anime and inspirational blogs.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Are there any sites that feature comics or manga posted on the actual page, and not as a downloadable .zip? This job doesn't allow downloading of software or the like. I don't mean webcomics either, but scans (unless that falls into pirating territory, in which case nevermind).
