So I'm going to be in a production of The Laramie Project this winter, and I want to learn how to do a regional accent for the show. This is made difficult by the fact that I don't even know what accent I should be learning how to do, much less what it sounds like. Any help? What does one from Wyoming speak like? How can I learn to mimic?
Wyoming? I'd try speaking without an accent as much as you can—that is, pronounce everything as it is pronounced in the dictionary. We midwesterners avoid "y'all" in favor of "you guys" (or simply "you") if it comes up, and when speaking quickly sometimes pronounce "for" as though it were written "fer" (I think this is fairly universal though).
Otherwise there's not really anything distinguishing; just kill whatever accent you speak with now.
it's a pretty neutral accent, no real regional slang to speak of or anything
the hillbilly liquor store clerks are a pretty extreme exaggeration, only play it like that if you'd play a southern accent by knocking out your teeth and walking around with your dick in your sister

The liquor store clerk is always what i think of when i think of people from wyoming. The guy talking about the nazis too.
I guess it depends on what kind of exagerated accent you want to put on.
