What is that new 4 skulls shirt reference?

I know he's confident, but my arrival at the reference is not going to happen without some help.
What is the new shirt referring to? The image can be seen on the main page today, and here:

    Its a parody of an item select screen from some game but i cant put my finger on what game....

    I believe that is the hint arrow, actually.

    Definately Puzzle Quest. I didn't get it at first, but after a minute, I calculated the damge to my enemy =)

    Huh... Ok then. I thought it was maybe some sort of reference to Halo 3's skull collecting. I totally didn't make the Puzzle Quest connection, probably because they don't really look like the skulls in Puzzle Quest. :|

    For a second I thought it was a reference to Skullmonkeys, but that's way too old.
