Drafting

I was recently contacted about doing some 3D drafting work for this guy. He needs me to draft jewelry (rings, necklaces, earrings, etc.) and while I could sit around and draw up a variety of different jewel cuts and sizes, I figure someone out there has probably already done so. Does anyone know where I might find a library, for purchase or free, that would contain various stones with different cuts? The software the library/ies is/are compatible with isn't really of consequence to me right now. I've liked SolidWorks most so far, but I'm willing to learn new things. Software specifically for drafting jewelry would be nice, also.

Any help would be appreciated. =)

so you want a library of finished works you can buy to just hand to this guy? Or schematics that you model your work from?

Turbosquid might have what you want?

If I'm reading it right, he wants to get various jewels pre-modelled so he doesn't have to waste time with that part, instead being able to focus on the actual jewelry design. Seems like a thing that would exist since most jewel cuts are pretty standardized, but I've no idea where one would look for something like that.

see317 is correct about what it is I'm looking for. I have every intention of doing the jewelry designs and such, but I don't really have time to go through and craft all the different jewel cuts and things. If I just had something to work off of, then I could alter the cuts as necessary and save a lot of time. I'd be happy to pay for such a library.

That Turbosquid site seems pretty nice. The only thing is that the models come individually, which I suppose has its pros and cons. I will definitely remember that site, though. Thanks, aesir. =)

alright, I understand now. Turbosquid is pretty much the best library of models. I seriously doubt you'll find the library you're looking for, but best of luck.
