I'm putting together a class curriculum on tyrannically ruling a nation. Everything on how to orchestrate the original coup to how to hold to an intelligent strategy in war. Something in between running a modern country and putting together a Pax Romana of sorts.
I came here first because aside from the cox, dix jokes, there are actually some really well read intellectuals among us, and I wanted to brainstorm what kind of things you'd teach, what course material you'd utilize, who you would use as role-models in the class, who did it right in history, who did it wrong, a book list, etc.
As far as the book list goes, I suppose The Prince is a no brainer.
