In a drought of interesting new shows I've completely missed that Ghost Hound started airing last month.

Shinreigari/Ghost Hound (神霊狩/GHOST HOUND, Shinreigari/Gōsuto Haundo?) is an anime TV series, created by Production I.G. and Shirow Masamune, noted for being the creator of the Ghost in the Shell series.[1][2] The original concept and design was first developed by Shirow in 1987.[3] It is Production I.G's 20th year anniversary project and was first announced at the 2007 Tokyo International Anime Fair.[1][2]
The series features the likes of director Ryūtarō Nakamura (Serial Experiments Lain, Kino's Journey), scriptwriter Chiaki J. Konaka (Serial Experiments Lain, Texhnolyze, The Big O) , character designer and chief animation director Mariko Oka (Hell Girl) and art director Hiromasa Ogura (Spirit of Wonder, Jin-Roh, Ghost in the Shell).[4] It premiered on Thursday, October 18, 2007 in Japan on WOWOW at 23:30 JST.[1] A manga adaptation, featuring art by Kanata Asahi, has also been serialized in Comic Blade.[5]

Shirow concept, written and directed by the people responsible for Lain. This looks to be just as big of a mindfuck as Lain. It's great.

i'll probably regret asking this but

has anyone seen the first part of the Rebuild of Evangelion? It came out already, I wonder if it's good.

The FLCL director is co-directing it, so I'm hoping it's not as stupid.

There are still diamonds in the rough occasionally, like with anything else.

I once bought the Evangelion box set for $80 because all the ads showed giant robots, and I said' Hell yeah, giant robots!' I loaned it out to someone after I watched it, then moved away without bothering to get it back.

It was SO BAD that I didn't even care to retrieve it to sell it later.

One of the EVA episodes had an elevator scene consisting of a single frame and elevator music that lasted for about a minute.

The problem that I see with the anime industry is that there are so many people that anime just for the sake that it is anime regardless if it is rehashed crap or not.
