And no, they can't take the bus, the younger one particularly. She goes to a Montessori school, which = no bus.

Are you friends with other parents at the same school? No car pooling? Also, what the fuck kind of school has no bus? Is this a grade school?

Hey Social Entropy++, I wrecked my car on the autobahn last Saturday because of heavy rain and aquaplaning. I was doing about ~60 mph on a straight, four-lane autobahn and completely lost control of the car and wrecked it.

As I had a suspended licence about a year ago, I'm still on a sort of probation where the limits to which I can fuck up without getting suspended are lower.

I'll probably get another suspension for six months because of that but hey, I don't have a car anymore so fuck me...
That sucks. What tires did you have?

I still had summer tyres on. I was going to put the winter tyres on the next fucking day as they were at my parents' house and I was going there anyway...

Either way, I don't think winter tyres would've done much good in that situation. I should've gone slower in that weather, and I already was doing "only" 60 as my usual speed on a dry autobahn is closer to 100.

But eh, hindsight and all that...

Shoulda had a car with ESP.

Mine had ESP and that's what kept my car from rolling over like mad. That car was fucking safe and saved mine and my buddy's life.

ESP stabilises your car in curves, when drifting sideways and other such things. It doesn't prevent you from losing control due to aquaplaning.

I don't understand, though. Did the road curve when you started hydroplaning?

When my car hydroplanes, I just go in a straight line, my ESP flashes, Quattro binds up, and I go straight through it...

    EDIT: ohhh, summer tires. Pwned.

So, you've never sped, you've never been exhausted, and rolled through that stop sign right before your house, you've instead driven to the letter of the law every minute of every day.

Well, then I can heed your lofty advice.

Or, perhaps, you live in the real world. Where you can slip up, or be in a hurry because responsibility A ends a bit too late, and responsibility B isn't something you can really be late for.

    Jesus.

I get that driving whilst suspend = not good.
The circumstances being what they are, puts me in a terribly frustrating situation, and I tried to do what I could.

I have to do some work, at work. I can't continue this angry, escalated discourse any more, at least not right now.

Fine, think I'm a fucking idiot. Do that. If it makes your world that much more easily compartmentalized, then go for it.

Weight imbalance maybe, or wind. Most likely though there was more water under the left tyres than the right ones, which is why the left side drifted off more than the right. I countersteered, got grip for a second but not enough to straighten out and aquaplaned again, this time to the left, losing control.

Ok, let me ask my 7-year old stepdaughter to find her own ride. That's brilliant.

3 tickets in 12 months. I didn't even know that was a law, as it hadn't ever happened previously.
    Butters wrote:

yes, it is an elementary school. It's K-7, and here's an explanation. It's for accelerated learning, and It's quite amazing. And no, there are no buses. The parents get a small, capped tax credit for driving their kids all year, which is always less than what we spend.

ok, i'm actually going. not that anyone gives two shits. whilst.

    Heh, it doesn't happen yet.

So basically, it's 7:45 AM here (PST) - I'm going to go through the day (testing games at CAPCOM yay!) then see if I get tired around a nice, reasonable hour. Like, 10-11PM.

Because before, I was going to bed at 3AM.

I'm off to get some fucking coffee.

I don't know, formal musical tution can do an incredible amount of harm to a child. Like I say, a genius will excel anyway. Guthrie Govan didn't go to no special school.

besides which, you just posted your own rebuttal. P Diddy? The young royals? A tv chef?

The best they can come up with is a spoiled prince whose stunning intellect led him to believe that it would be a bit of a laugh to wear a nazi uniform to a fancy dress party and a little Jewish girl who couldn't even play Hide and Seek?
