Double Majoring

Hey guys, in need your infinite wisdom and insight.
So I have been constructing my 4-5 year plan for college and have decided that I am going to go for a History: Teaching Broad Area major and a Geography minor. The thing is I could probably double major in Social Studies Teaching and do it in a year successfully. So I can either graduate in 4 years or if I double major, it would be 5 years.
Wait, are you in colege now or just planning this stuff out? Why not just take the first year easy, take interesting classes you want, see what you really want to do and if they're the right fit, and take easy summer classes to make up? Its not like you're doing engineering or anything.
there really is not much of a reason for a double major to automatically take 5 years
i can't imagine the requirements for those degrees have that little overlap
Well heres the thing. Without double majoring I can graduate in 4 years, no way around it. If I decided to double major I would simply add another year I believe.
And a lot of the required classes overlap between the already selected major and minor. In fact I only have to take one geography class out of my way to get a minor in it.

yeah
and I've got enough background experience with a lot of those sorts of topics, especially with digital graphics and basics of keyframe animation, that I'd be well ahead and could ace a lot of those classes while honing and refining my skills.
like, yesterday I was digging through old sketchbooks, being all sentimental, and I found the one I had when I took that college art class, one of the three college classes I've taken in my life, and realized, man, I'm really fucking good at learning, and I really need to do this shit if I am oging to do what I want to in life.
I've spent ten years, since high school, working my ass off trying to get decent jobs that teach me what I want, but I've gotten about as far as I ever will, and I don't really enjoy my job, so this is the next logical step. I've got a good woman to help support me through the next couple years, I've got good contacts in the gaming industry for when I get out of school and look for work, and fucking hell I am going to make this work!
I was going to double major in computer science and mathematics
I settled on a BS in computer science with a minor in mathematics
no regrets, because fuck those last three classes straight in the groin
I guess the point is, planning for a double major is well and good but make sure by the end of it you're smart enough to actually pass the required classes (like I wasn't--my last class for the minor, I scraped by on the pity of the professor, thank god)

Well, that and the Bachelor's, since I have 2 years under my belt already...
I'm not as interested in the bfa course sequence, as I already know a LOT of that shit, and it really doesn't delve into the 3d design and game-optimized animation and creation nearly as much as I'd like to.

Double major in Interpretive Dance and Economics. Do something nobody has done before.
I'm terrible at economics probably...
Interpretative Dance though, I'd ace that bitch.
See, doing board meetings and power point presentations while fluttering around the room while dancing your points across to people would be completely original.

So how long do you have to finish the Bachelor programs at Digipen? The Associate's, it says you have to do it within three years, but it only says the BS usually takes four years. I'd be a lot more interested if I could spread it out further and not have to be a full-time student again.
Of course, it's really a moot point until I get my existing student loans paid off, but still...

as far as I can tell, the two degrees at digipen I'm looking at are set up for two years of study. Just an intense workload, but I'm prepared. I think.

Ok of all the things to complain about with Ohio the opportunity to seek higher education isn't one of them. I believe we are home to more college campuses than any other state.
Rank it would be awesome if you went to Digipen because you would be closer then.
totally. We're looking at probably moving down to Marysville or somewhere in that area, so that we can both commute, since Lindsay is going to work as a graduate student at Western, and I'll just knuckle down and get a buttload of financial aid and loans to allow us to live dirt poor for the next couple of years. Turns out that her dad is making a deal with her that he'll pay most of her student loans if she keeps going for the graduate program she wants to get, so that frees us up of a lot of future debt, so why not heap some new stuff on? Yaaaay debt!

Education requirements take a full year.

I didn't take it easy, and that is how I know that.
