Is there a English version of Guillermo del Toro's The Devil's Backbone, or is it only in Spanish with English subtitles? I checked the Special Edition on Amazon, but it just says that the movie is in Spanish.

    Not an answer but... I'd hate to watch that film dubbed. Most dubs of european films are beyond awful.

    So I presume you watched the movie with subtitles then? I was just wondering if it would be acceptable to send the Spanish version as a gift (to my santee, obviously), since I couldn't find an English version anywhere. Strange to hear that you Americans make bad dubs of our movies though.

    I have to believe that anyone who would actually appreciate that movie, or any foreign film for that matter, would much prefer to watch it subtitled and not dubbed. I recommend going with subtitles if you think they would enjoy the film.

    (Not to sound like a snob or anything, but everyone I've ever met that would prefer a dubbed version wasn't exactly the foreign film type in the first place.)
