Choosing a console

Don't know if this belongs here but I'm having quite the hard time chooseing a system.

I previously owned an Xbox 360, but got rid of it after losing my job for a few months over the summer and being in a financial lockdown. I'm now working one job making 10.50 full time and soon to be working another full time job as well, so money is not an issue on chooseing my console.

A few things I'm looking for:
1) Graphics, I own a pretty nice 42"(or 46" I think) HD TV, so I want the games to look great! PS3 / xbox 360 it seems
2) Rockband and Gh3, I love these games and they are probably the biggest seller for me to pick my console
3) Super Mario Galaxy / SSBB, these are on wii only but I would be happy getting a wii just for these titles
4) Online play, I know wii doesn't have it and Xbox live is the best route on this, but I hear that some PS3 titles have very good online play also.

I don't want to pick multiple platforms I want to choose just one, and I want to be happy with it. Somthing I can play hours on end with many great game choices, solo or with friends or online.

Right now I'm really leaning towards PS3 because it seems to be the better looking and has a few great games coming in the next year, I also read that it is offering a Tivo type thing that records tv shows for you.

What is your guys recommendations?

Wii does have online, just not many titles have it yet.

Honestly, you will not fine one console with everything you're looking for, none of them have all of your requirements. the Wii looks really nice, but doesn't hold a candle to the 360/ps3. GH3 is on Wii, but no DLC.

Mario Galaxy and Brawl are Wii only.

honestly, if you can manage a small step down in graphics, Wii will do you very well. But, if you MUST have good graphics, then go for Wii60, because neither the 360 or Wii have all of what you want.

I would say re-buy a 360, and get a Wii also.

If money isn't an issue, there's really no good reason to restrict yourself to one console unless your apartment is super-extra-tiny or something else you didn't mention - plus, as someone has said above, neither console has everything you listed by itself.

I don't really see the point in spending $170 or $100 for rock band and GH3 without getting the DLC songs.

Also I should have mentioned I did decide on getting a wii 2 weeks ago but it is IMPOSSIBLE to find one, I was told the only way I could have a hope in getting one is if I camped out before black friday, and I'm not really into doing that because I won't get another paycheck for 2 weeks after this one and that means I'll be broke for 2 weeks.

I'm thinking since I'm in a gamer withdrawl I will either take a ps3 or 360 in the coming weeks but can't decide between the two.

Wait until after New Years, when you have a significant amount of money saved up and can actually maybe afford a gaming system without breaking the bank.

Hrm, I could do that and save up a couple grand and get everything I wanted but waiting more when I can get one now is tough

If you can get one now, I'd get the 360. Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 online? That'll hold you over a long time.

Get the Wii when Brawl is out, that way you can play it + Galaxy at the same time. Right now, it'd only be Galaxy.

I'm taking Thinatos advice and saving until probably jan or feb.

For now though I'm headed to gamestop right now to get a used PS2 with Gh3 and an extra wireless guitar controller for me and my buddies to have somthing to do in the next coming months. May pick up a few cheapo games like kingdom hearts or somthing, they are like 10 bucks.

Then once jan or feb comes around I'll have 3g+ saved up and can splurge on a new 360 elite and a bunch of new games and sound system, and hopefully rockband will be available by then too.
