You may or may not have seen it yourself, but last night on MSNBC I saw Runaways: San Francisco.
You're sleeping on the woods and digging through trash-bins for food, where do you get the cigarettes from???
By far the weirdest part was when the mom of one runaway came to visit him and 'walk in his shoes'. At the end, she was saying goodbye to him and said, "He'll be alright." O_o
I know I wasn't the only one who saw this.
Edit: This isn't trashing on the people who are really down on their luck, or the handicapped - this is about the teenage runaways that simply don't want to work or study - and they admit it too.
where whoever has the funniest homeless trick wins a prize
This immediately reminds me of the episode of the simpsons where Krusty is homeless, and he's not getting any money from his "will drop pants for food" sign, because the old dude is already doing it, while singing that blasted song.

I remember reading a story in the paper about a guy who lost his wife and kid in a car wreck, so he gave all of his money and possessions to charity and lived on the street.

Thats why there are so many homeless people in California. There isn't much chance of them freezing to death.

this reminds me of the scene in american psycho where he kills the homeless person
I was drunk and talking to some homeless guy who was trying to get some money from me. He said he would swim across this half-frozen pond for $20. I said sure, but when he was half way across the pond I walked away.

I remember there was this couple (homeless), who ended up birthing a child. Are little children allowed to be cared for when the parents are homeless? They got permanent housing, but I wasn't aware that could count.
Edit:
obviously the fact that many homeless people have severe mental issues and are unable to find help make them worthless sacks of subhuman shit
.
It wasn't about those people. Them, I can understand. The people in the documentary were teenage runaways who simply didn't want to work or go to school. Whatever money they spent they spent on drugs or alcohol.

Edit: sort of.

seriously not all homeless people are jobless dudes that don't own anything

But I might need that change for parking meters!
