So the story goes, that after a year of thinking everyone else is crazy, and that the 360 is reliable, I get the red ring of death. No worries, I send it away for repairs without any hassle.
But in the meantime, I borrow some money and update to that sexy elite. So now I am going to sell my refurbished 360, but I am concerned that it will still be registered to my account, and whoever I sell it to will not be able to access tech support.
So my question is, is there anything special I should/need to do before I sell my old 360?
Well when I had the xbox, I registered it to my account. So when I call tech support, they ask my name, and the console's pin number, which would be registered to me, not to the buyer.
If you mean live account, our live account will be deactivated on your old box as soon as you activate it on your new elite.
As for tech support? They shouldn't have any problem using microsofts tech support with a second-hand 360. It's cool, he'll just have to explain that he bought it. Leave him your old pin number and stuff just so he can relay it to them. They shouldn't have much of a problem with it unless the new guy seems supicious.
