Last week I went back to England to visit my family. I mentioned that I had a shelf-load of PS2 games I couldn't play anymore, and they told me to just take my PS2 as they hadn't used it in a while. So I did. Rather obviously, it's not compatible with the chunky old television in my bedroom. I've yet to try it on the lovely big HDTV in the living room, but as that involves going behind the TV and fiddling with cables that I can't be bothered to fiddle with just yet, I've decided to ask you lot here if you think that will actually work.
If it doesn't work (and let's be realistic here, it probably won't) is there any way I can get my PAL PS2 working on American tellyboxes? Some sort of converter-box, perhaps? Your thoughts, feelings and musings would be appreciated - bonus points if your aid is in the form of a haiku.
Yeah, older telly's often are either NTSC (USA) or PAL (UK/Europe/a bunch of other places too) but most newer TV's are compatible with both formats. There may be a few games that the PAL version doesn't have a 60hz mode, but I don't think the number of games that fit that catergory is big at all.
I beleive PAL -> NTSC converters exist, but I think they are very expensive.
