Panic attack?

I believe I'm having a panic attack, I need something to hepl calm me down...

I feel like my heart is acting up on me..... My pulse is fine, I simply feel the prescence of my heart, it kinda stings...

I'm 22, so it shouldn't be a heart attack... I've had one in the past, related to my "caffeine overdose", but it's aggrvating because its still there...

What are the odds of it something other than a Panic attack?

I've been awake since 7ish yesterday morning haven't really eaten and drank anything all day...

I'm home alone right now, I'm debating calling 911 and dealing with a hospital bill or just riding it out.....

I know this sounds silly, I'm just freaking out a bit with my wife in Georgia asleep and not answering her phone.... My heart feels a bit tigh and feels likes its twitching...

Pulse is a little fast, but not racing... More like adrenaline fast...

I'm not going to say there's nothing seriously wrong because I'm not a doctor.

    HOWEVER

I have had what you're describing, almost exactly. I've had it a few times, and each time it was a panic attack. Each time I have ridden it out. Positive thinking is exactly what you need to be focused on. Put on your favorite music, turn on the lights, sit down and think about things you enjoy.

    You'll be OK.

Get in a position where you could comfortably fall asleep, and if you get tired, let it happen. You will feel better in the morning.

    You'll be OK.

EDIT: Eat some food. Really, the body only functions well when it's fueled correctly. Simple carbs and sugars would be a good start, followed by some protein.

    :)

um, you've had a heart attack in the past, or a panic attack?

The rule of thumb with heart attacks is, if your chest is hurting, you should see a doctor asap.

On the other hand, I've been having a hard time with panic disorder for the last year or so, and one of the symptoms is the certainty that you have heart troubles or some other physical problem that is going to killyou at any moment.

    Man.

A year of that has not been fun.

So yeah. Best of luck. Your best chance of calming down is to get someone that you feel comfortable expalining this to to be with you while you fall asleep. If you're anything like me you can't sleep cause you're worried that you'll have a heart attack while you sleep or something. Having someone there was usually all i needed. Not always, but usually.

you're the short-bus candidate who decided it would be a rad idea to drink as much caffeine as you could and make a thread about it, and now you're facing health consequences? colour me unsurprised. Drink more water, ditch the soda, stop being a toolbag about your body.

I just had to quote one of The Cat's earlier posts for you:

Why not indeed, you're clearly already an idiot. A little more damage probably won't make any observable difference.

Look, you're only going to fuck up your kidneys and your head and give yourself a freakin' anxiety attack

This quote leaves me asking one question: The Cat, what are the Lotto numbers this week?

I'm just going to conitue using this thread... While most of you are probably annoyed with me by now, I apologize, normally I would go to my wife to help me out with things, however due to my job I had to stay behind for thanksgiving...

Anyways.... So, here I am at home well rested, I've been sleeping throughout the day, my heart issues are still sorta there but I'm still certain its just a left over effect of the attack, same thing that happened lasst time...

Biggest issue though is that I work for Circuit City and need to be at work for 3am... Which means i need to be awake at 2... In 5 hours from now.... I'll be at work work until 10pm...

So I need something that'll help me fall asleep.... I used HGTV to put me to sleep originally, but when I woke up the show was so annoying I used Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends to keep me out... Basically I've spent the entire day sleeping for a couple of hours, awake for an hour, asleep for a couple of hours, so on and so forth... Right now I'm trying the HGTV thing again, but I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts about something that'll put me out...

A NON-non-drowsy cold/allergy pill like Sudafed usually helps put me out.

Regarding your unidentified problem, though, I started to feel weird - similar to what you've described - several years ago, and it turned out to be high blood pressure. I was really feeling it, and worried about what was wrong, which probably reinforced the severity of the condition.. anyway, when I went to the hospital to get checked out, my bp was 167/102 which is pretty out of control. If you go like that for long, your body can get permanently messed up. In my case, it contributed to me losing some sight in my left eye. If it had been noticed sooner, I could've avoided that just by taking a couple of pills every day. So I recommend you pay a few visits to docs and try to nail down just what is going on.. you could save yourself a lot of trouble in the long term by doing that now.
