Fresh windows installation can no longer connect to internet

Using Windows XP SP2 and a wired linksys router. It was working last night. I chose the "shut down after finishing windows update" option because it was still downloading something. Well it just shut down anyway so it probably screwed something up because now I can't even ping my router.

I've tried reseting winsock but to no avail. How can I get my computer online again?
