In summer I was using Photoshop's trial version to edit and fine-tune the pictures I took with my DSLR. Well, the trial period ended, and the thing is too expensive for me to actually buy. So I'm left without an image-editing software, and as a result have stopped using my camera.
I'm looking for a free (or at least inexpensive) image-editing software for the Mac (powerPC, not intel-based). Preferably one that has tools that are similar to Photoshop's healing brush tool. I work with people a lot and it is often necessary to make imperfections on their skin disappear.

They do make gimp for macs http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/ but I don't know its quality.
This. The GIMP does pretty much all that I needed Photoshop for (as an amateur who edits pics mostly for fun)
