(Console) Bundle of Joy -Also- New owners' guide?

So, with the holidays approaching fast, I'm sure lots of stores are doing console bundles and deals of all kinds.

Have you seen any killer deals that you couldn't believe, and that you are partaking in?

MTS, the telecom company of my province (Manitoba) is offering this bundle with their DSL high-speed internet service:

For those who don't want to click:

You have to put $99 down, and your monthly internet bill increases by about $19, for 3 years. It is basically a $750 package for about $685...

I signed up for it and should be receiving my Elite within a week.

In addition, with a lot of people becoming first time owners of consoles, are there any other must get items (games and accessories) that we should know about (any system)?

I do plan on getting the obvious (GHIII, CoD4, Assassin's Creed, Rainbow 6: vegas, Mass Effect, and a quick charge kit, and maybe the chat pad add-on).

I really have nothing to add in the way of advice, only to second the topic, because I'm thinking of becoming a 360 owner this christmas as well. All relevant information to any of the new consoles would be appreciated.

This seems over broad. Might be best to keep it to just great budles/deals. The topic of "must have" games for any given console could be a thead in itself not to mention all 3.
