Two problems:
1. It rejects CDs that she puts in the computer at least half the time
2. The best way I can describe it is that the screen is zoomed in, and pans around to follow the cursor.
#2 is especially strange, I've never seen this happen before. Should she take it into the Apple Store? Or is there an easier way to fix this?

Just hold down the ctrl key and scroll out using a mouse wheel.
If she doesn't have a mouse, hold down ctrl and put two fingers on the touchpad and drag them down at the same time.
