I am planning on making the jump from XP Home to Vista Home Premium....my question is wether there is a difference between buying the full version of Vista for $240 as opposed to the upgrade version at $160?

Are there reasons I should or shouldnt go with one over the other? Any info would be appreciated!

I seem to recall it eating your XP key to "upgrade" to vista but I could be wrong on that. Anyone able to confirm? I got the full version so I'm unsure. (and hated it... since switched to dual booting)

Assuming you're comparing the upgrade and full version of the "Vista home premium" package, there is no difference.

Edit: that's poorly worded. Make sure both vista versions you're looking at are "home premium"

Yes they are both Home Premuim versions...I tend to dousche my system every 6 to 9 months or so...will I have to reinstall XP and then Vista each time? or is a clean install of Vista and it just needs a key to prove I have XP?

And if it eats the XP code meaning I can no longer use XP on my 2nd system than fuck that I will just buy the full version.
