S-Video Out: Everythings is ok, except video?

This one's got me stumped.
Windows laptop, SVideo out of an ATI xpress 1100, everything (desktop, browsing, programs, etc) displays fine, except video. I've tried Media Player Classic and Windows Media Player. In both cases, video (tried both avi files and a DVD) opens and plays fine on the laptop screen, but does not display on the TV.
Possibly the strangest part is that it worked fine yesterday, and I haven't changed anything since.
