    The Prinny Tribunal

    disgaea-2-cursed-memories-20060829055726784.jpg

Not even the Netherworld is above the law. Always watchful, ever vigilant, and justice for all, dood.

The Prinny Tribunal ensure that everything in the Netherworld runs according to their strict regimine. Unfortunately, no one really knows just what their standards are. The Tribunal may subpoena a player at any given moment for whatever crime they see fit to accuse him of.

Should the player accept his subpoena, then he will be found guilty of a FELONY. Upon accepting this judgment, the Felon will automatically have one vote counted against him towards the execution vote.

Each day this player survives, the penalty increases. On the bright side, in the event of winning the vote, he has a 50/50 chance of using his criminal talents to evade the vote entirely, and leave the runner-up to die in his stead. However, should he succeed, his odds will be reduced by 10% for the next instance, then by 20%, and so forth.

On the other hand, if the player likes, he may choose to EVADE the Tribunal's judgment. While this will protect the player from the risks of being susceptible to the vote, the Tribunal will not be pleased. Odds are increased that he will be called upon for other crimes in future proceedings, and should the player continue to evade the Tribunal's reach, they can reveal his identity, or commandeer any items in his possession, whichever the Tribunal sees as an adequate punishment.
(Further specifics will come at game start.)

The Tribunal's judgment can occur once a day, at most.

And no, prinnies themselves are not above the law.

So getting summoned to the Prinny Tribunal is not a good thing in this game. It's something that's likely to sap a character to death, given time. I fully expect there to be items that will allow for evasion without penalty or to bring the hammer down on some poor sap. I also expect there to be bribery going on with this mechanic. This will be wonderful.

Hmm. Okay, if there *is* such thing as bribery, how would it happen? That would mean that a special would be to be wickedly rich, and likely, if that man were to die, then the killer would get the cash. Who knows?

Well, I'm remembering things wrong, just slightly. There's ways to bribe the senators to vote for your proposals in the Dark Assembly, but no way to bribe your way out of a felony in the Prinny Tribunal. However, it is possible to trick the Prinnies into giving the felony to a different character, or to assign the charges to multiple characters. I suspect that we will be able to give up items to attain these goals. It's also possible that we'll have Hell (currency of the Netherworld) to use for bribery and manipulation as well, and that its presence in this game has not yet been announced.

Not exactly. I may need to scale some aspects down in the event I don't get those 13, but the game will start tomorrow night, regardless.

I'm hoping the end of the weekend drought should bring some more players by.
