So, mom has a Wii. Wii Sports was well liked and Wii Play was appreciated, though not as much. She also bought Carnival Games, which she didn't seem to like as much (it has a lot of minigames, but most aren't all that creative or anything).
So yeah, casual games. Anyone have any recommendations on games for an older audience? I was thing maybe Raving Rabbids, but I'm not sure if that's something she'd like. Mostly I'm looking for ideas so I can form a list and do a bit more research.
Oh, she also plays second player on Galaxy with me, which is awesome.

Depends on her sense of humor. I find the games in RRR to be "meh," but the humor puts it over the top.
What about Brain Age or Cooking Mama? Older players seem to eat those up. ANYONE can get into Brain Age.
Mario Party is pretty dull, especially when you're playing for short periods of time.
I hear women rave about Cooking Mama all the time, but you probably don't want to miss out on dinner just because she finds it more fun than real cooking. Cooking Mama 2 apparently is in the works for an early 2008 release, so you might want to hold out for a bit.
I forgot about Wario Ware, I'm not sure if that'd be her sort of thing or not. I told her about Mario Party and she seemed unsure of it. Come to think of it what I should really do is rent these games and let her try them to see which ones she likes. I could probably rent a game or two next time she comes to visit.
Aren't Brain Age and Cooking Mama only on the DS? Or are they on the Wii? I haven't really been keeping track. I saw a sale on Big Brain Academy, but again I'm not sure if it's what she'd like. I wish Wii had more puzzle games, I know she likes those. Devil Dice and Puzznic and all that.
Endless Ocean would probably be pretty good. I bet she'd have fun with ExciteTruck, too.
Mercury Meltdown and Geometry Wars, maybe? I know they both get pretty hardcore, but I understand that the learning curve is pretty gentle, and it might be the brand of hardcore that would appeal to your mom. My parents and other older relatives love Pac-Man and Galaga and Tetris, and I suspect that good puzzle and shoot-em-up games appeal more to the generation than you might think they do.
My mom has always been extremely addicted to any mario game.
When I got my first gameboy and super mario bros for my birthday when I was like 7, I didn't get to play my gameboy until my mom had already beaten it. Actually now that I think of it I'm pretty sure my mom has beat every mario/wario game before I have.
Mom didn't like playing Mario with me on the NES, she preferred Puzznic, so anything with too much action is a no go. I thought about virtual console games, but she doesn't have wireless yet and seems uninterested in it. I will look up Mercury Meltdown and Geometry Wars though. No Zack and Wiki for her though, that's one I want for me.
Thanks for all the ideas everyone. I've expanded my list and now just have to look into the games more and pick one out (or rent a couple).
It's not on the Wii, but many people have computers, so: Portal. Portal a million times over. I have personally watched 3 people who have never played computer games before play through it and enjoy it.

The game is in my pants.
Would you like to see it.

On topic, what about Virtual Console games? My mom is addicted to Sega's Columns. She is also very good at it.

You know, she can play with my Penis.
Penis.
Is it short and unfulfilling?
Close enough.
Saucepan?
What was that word again? Can you repeat it?
oh god I can't do it T_T
