I remember reading some reviews a long while ago about this novel that had a protagonist that was some huge nerd in high school. But it showed it in both a positive and negative (ie realistic) light, I think. Anyone know?

The book in question was written probably in 2003 at the earliest. More likely sometime in 2005 or later. I can't remember when EW became my potty reading material.
