2007 the [steam sale], one month to go, can our wallets recover?

We have one month to go for 2007 and my wallet needs comforting from all the pain. November was a brutal month.

I've looked up the releases for: PC, Wii, 360 and DS. All that stood out was "NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams" for the Wii.

Are there any good games coming out in December that deserve attention?

Also note that next year is going to have an intense beginning.

Uhh.... nothing really apart from NiGHTS.

I'll probably catch up and get NiGHTS, Witcher, and DBZ Budokai 3 (Wii) for Christmas.

Now if I only had enough time to play all the shit I bought since october. Which didn't turn out to be nearly as much as I planned on getting (nixxed Crysis, CoD4, UT3, Timeshift, Godzilla Wii, and some DS stuff). Having a job is neat and all, but my lifelong plan of saving half of my earnings while still living with my folks has already completely failed.

Also, I had to scrub someone's shit out of a carpet last night. So having a job sucks.

Good gamers are getting a break. It's nice to have variety to appeal to all tastes but many of us have a pretty wide appetite.

Even with a good job I could barely keep up this year.

If you think your situation is bad, try talking to a poor college student like me :( The only thing I've bought between August and now is Halo 3 and Mario Galaxy, I still have Mass Effect, Bioshock, Stranglehold, Phantom Hourglass, Phoenix Wright 3, and even NiGHTS to catch up on.

man I hate being broke

My wallet was doing great so far. Then October/November came. Halo 3, GH3, Rock Band, Assassins Creed and Mass Effect. The last 3 I bought all of them in the same week. My paycheck suffered greatly. Stupid videogames making me love them so.

This is why I'm glad I budgeted after most of the major October and November releases had their dates listed (say, since July).

I was able to pick up GHIII, Witcher, Rock Band, Mass Effect, and Assasin's Creed and still had enough left for some Christmas shopping for people other than me.

As a former poor-ass college student, let me assure you that when you get out into the real world and have a job... having all the money in the world and no time to play games is just as bad as having all the time in the world and no money to play games.

In one two-year stretch, the only games I bought were Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, and their expansions. The the user-made mods at NWVault and match making on www.neverwinterconnections.com for NWN were a godsend.

Now, I picked up Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on its release date and haven't beaten it yet. I've played the first mission of Panzer Tactics. Mario Galaxy's still in its shrinkwrap. I did find time to beat Portal, however.

ya I have purchased 2 games since August. UT3 and Mario Galaxy. the rest went on my Christmas list. Whatever I don't get for Christmas/Birthday(which is in January) I will eventually buy.

When you're so poor that you can only afford one game, at least you can play the shit out of that one game.

When you have absolutely no time to play games, you wind up with little snippets of great games if you're lucky.

Due to time concerns, I've already passed on Zelda: PH and Contra 4. I'm still working on Galaxy, and I imagine my next purchase will either be Contra 4 or maybe NiGHTS.

I'm doing great this year - all I've gotten in a while is Halo 3, Galaxies, and Assassin's Creed. I'm trying to find a copy of the spyro gba game locally, but I don't know of any games I want til Brawl. I'm pretty happy with it all.

I'm in the strange position where working from home 4 days a week still doesn't afford me so much time to play games.

Heck, I probably have played Mass Effect the most this entire year compared to any other game, and its only been out a week and a bit.

Christmas is going to be so sweet though. I actually get a huge holiday where I can visit my parents and just goof the fuck off for the first time in like 3 years. Like properly pig out and do nothing all day every day for a few weeks.
