So, I've heard about this game. It's called Huxley.
Supposedly this is an MMOFPS, something of a rarity on the scene. I loved Planetside back in the day, even though it was riddled with bugs, so this game obviously is of interest to me and other fellow FPSers.
I haven't played it though, so I'm wondering if someone out there is in the beta, or have played it in any other way shape or form?
The screenshots of the game makes it look aesthetically great for an mmo. It looks like Unreal Tournaments cousin, and supposedly also plays a lot like UT game series.
So can someone tell me if this game is good? I need details
Well, those look like total bullshots, I can tell you that much.
And any game that relies on bullshots without showing you the real deal has got some things to hide.
well the videos seem to confirm that it wont look like shit anyway. (I can't really tell because the videos are so low quality) I also just realized that this thing is korean, and I haven't had a good track record with korean mmo's
Basically, so far it looks like a standard multiplayer FPS game. I can't really say that it looks like an MMO though. They haven't added vehicles yet, and I've yet to see a big epic fight like the ones you could get in Planetside.
And those are in-game engine shots without the HUD up.
It is being developed for the PC and 360. Last I heard PC players could choose between two warring races while 360 players could be some hybrid race that kind of works like a rogue nation. Classic 1v1v1 warfare. In the article I read the developers said they were going to have large battles like Planet Side but wanted to also have smaller PvP battles so you didn't always feel like cannon fodder. I think they said it was being developed with a western mindset, so no crazy Korean grinding. It sounded interesting but this was probably a year ago so who knows what has changed.

Yeah, I heard the same thing about it being developed with the West's tastes in mind. And also yeah, it was a long time ago that they last did heavy press for the game; since then I think they've been quite silent. Which I hope is not a bad sign, because I would love a Planetside that gets the first-person shooting part of the MMOFPS equation right.

My friend went on a huxplosion what wow, two years ago? I told him it was a bad idea, that he couldn't maintain a forum for the ten million years from then until release. I was right. In any event, I thought that this game was being published by a Korean company but developed by a team that was half in America half in Korea. I might be totally and utterly wrong however. I had high hopes for Huxley, but that passed. So far out of sight and out of mind--I expect vaporware to be honest--either vaporware or, "Oh fuck, we spent all our money and its not done yet, lets release it now and try to recoup some of our loses like Vanguard"ware.
Edit: But I'm jaded. Secretly, I still hope it comes out and is awesome.
I predict vaporware, been popping up occasionally for a couple years with no actual information.
I'd really like it to be an actual game that is released, because it looks like it could be a lot of fun, but I'm not that optimistic.

Here's a terribly low quality video of the game. It also has a korean man singing something in the background for some reason.

Here's one of a guy running around aimlessly with some kind of rocket launcher, now to american music instead
