I don't even know how to describe it. In my AP world history class earlier today, we did a little roleplaying thing to understand WWI nationalism and diplomacy problems. The teacher gave us all imaginary countries to represent, and then gave us a list of their goals and immediate situations. We had to send 'diplomats' to each other's countries and try to form up alliances in order to accomplish our individual goals. In the end, it worked out just like the real life countries our's represented. Well, it was really fun.
Basically, I was wondering if you guys knew of any kind of game, that emphasizes diplomacy but still has a little combat. I came here because you guys are awesome and have helped me in the past, and also, I have no idea as to what I'm really looking for.
I don't mind if its turn-based, and after a cursory look I've found tons of multiplayer turn-based games online. Problem is, there's a
lot, and I figure a bunch of them probably suck. If you know of any, I'm also trying to find some where the turn wait isn't much longer than 5 minutes or so.
Also, obviously it doesn't have to be turn based but I am trying to find one where combat is an element but definitely not the whole game, and one where the players don't always resort to combat. The kind of diplomacy I'm talking about could be sampled in
Imperial Glory campaign mode or
Age of Empires II (without the combat emphasis).
Thanks a lot for your help and sorry for the crappy post organization!
