Finding my GPU temperature?

I've recently(3 days ago) put together a new rig. Now, I've never really been a power pc gamer or anything like that, but I put together a moderately powerful system for kicks. But I chose a mini-atx case because of where I'm storing the tower itself, so I've run into so cramped spaces for my hardware. Most notably my network card sits right under my graphics card and partially blocks the fan. Any other cards would be totally blocking it so that's why I chose that setup.

I'm running a pny geforce8600gt "overclocked" and using the latest forceware drivers. I'm using windows Vista 64 bit.

Do I need a third party program to assess my gpu temp? I can't find anything in properties/nvidia control panel/BIOS(getting desperate there) about my gpu's temp.
