(Mods, please lock) utility program for archived files (zip, rar, etc)
i have a huge batch of .zip files that i'd like to extract all at once, and Windows XP's internal .zip handling doesn't seem to do the job. neither does Winrar apparently.
what's a good freeware compressed file utility for this kind of job?
WinRAR ought to, if you installed the shell extensions. If you select multiple ZIPs or RARs and right click there should be choices to Extract Here oe Extract Each Archive to Separate Folder. Make sure you haven't included any non-archive files in the selection by accident.

hah! you're right!
i had the shell integration turned off in WinRAR. must have done it a while ago for some reason or another.
yes, i would've just googled this, but i stopped trusting random sites found through google for software that i would actually install on my computer a long time ago, too.
