hello, i really don't know where else to turn so here it goes, my grandma has been putting money on a bank account for me in the last couple of years, it works so nobody can touch it except me, when i turn 18 i can withdraw the money, now I'm 20 and ready to do it.

the problem is the bank she uses is in Portugal, so i cant just go there, i don't have any other bank accounts, so anyways, how do i go about obtaining this money? and what kind of an account is this? if i knew the name of this type of account i could do some research on it. thanks for any help.

Forgive me if this isn't helpful, but wouldn't your grandmother be the best person to tell you what kind of account it is, and how you'd go about accessing it?

yeah, i thought this would be a hard question i think i better call the bank in Portugal, cause my gran don't really know how to access it either.

If she's been putting money into it, she should have some kind of record of the account. Contacting the bank with that information should fill in the blanks.
