Because I'm gonna move there and I want to know more about the city. I asked those guys over at H/A and they told me some shit but I want to hear it from you, SE.
Like how much is rent for a shitty apartment and tell me about cool shit to do. Also what neighborhood should I move to because I don't want to live next to a crackhouse but I don't want to live so far from the crackhouse that I have to take a bus to get there.
Seattle is far, I don't want to go to Seattle. I want to go to Portland to live in a city again, and get some education while I'm there and get one of those fancy careers everyone is harping about and out of state tuition would rape me through the pants.
I looked for places on Craigslist just to get an idea of what I'll be paying in rent 9and how much money I'll need to sucessfully make the move) and it's not as expensive as I thought it would be.
A friend of mine may be moving with me, which would be cool because moving alone sucks.

Actually the "out of state tuition" may not apply to OR residents. Also, fancey careers are over rated. Nothing but work and more work for a little bit of cash to further your gaming needs... and maybe buy a house/male order bride. (pun intended)
I have an awesome job here in Eugene. I make $8.50 an hour. I work in a huge convenience store. I assistant manage that bitch. I routinely have to bounce drunks, and I get/have to beat up on average three people a month.
I want to move to Portland so I can get a change of scenery and hey who can say no to free clean needles?
I have a water purifier that I use when I buy cheap Vodka. i'll have to clean it out or whatever, but i've got one.
Ummm, just buy two water filters, one for cheap vodka and one for water. Do not label either and make a rule that no matter which one you choose you have to drink whatever you pour. Also, randomly switch them around so no one know what is what.
This is also my plan when I get my own place at WSU.
Also, I can get you a job in Seattle doing nothing for a hotel at $10 a hour.... with excellent benefits and plenty of sexy Russian women (who shave) to flirt with.

I drove through the part where a meth-head gas-station attendant pumps your gas and makes you afraid he's gonna take your shit and then the part that's all farm land. The forested area and the Columbia River Gorge are nice.
Yeah they don't let you pump your own gas here unless you've got a CDL.
I worked at a gas station in Boise once. You would not believe how many people there are that are too stupid to pump their own gas safely and effectively.
Is there something in the water to incapacitate people in OR to such a degree where they can not pump their own gas? I mean, practically the rest of the US (including Mississippi) can pump their own gas.

Other than that? Burn it.
Edit: ESPECIALLY MEDFORD.
Hey.
Whoa.
What's your beef with Medford there, champ?
I mean I am just reading this thread about the state I live in, and then oh here is some dude dissing my town.
What is this.

Aside from the fact that I wanted to chew on the end of a revolver just driving through the place, it's fine.
I had a microphone which I could use from inside to yell at people who were pumping gas and I was an asshole so sometimes I would yell LOOKOUT! over the microphone and watch people's reactions.

Sounds like a personal problem to me.
I have a substantially high chance of moving to Portland for college next year. Woo. It was a pretty cool place last time I was there.

ask the legislature, I don't make the laws
I think it has something to do with providing more entry-level jobs or I don't know

For some reason I always thing I am misspelling through...

They had me in for an interview and asked what kind of experience pumping gas I had.
In the end I didn't the job. Apparently they found someone with more experience.
