Windows Taskbar Help

When my girlfriend uses her laptop, at times the taskbar will literally disappear from view. The drop-down menu can be accessed via the windows key on the keyboard, but otherwise nothing can be done.

This only happens occasionally, but it's extremely annoying and forces a restart.

Can anyone help?

I imagine you've already checked for that setting that makes the taskbar disappear unless you have the mouse on that edge of the screen?

Yeah, it doesn't appear when the mouse hovers over it.

Yes, make sure "Auto Hide" is off, and you can also opt for the taskbar to be "Always on top."

Sorry to be a pain, but where's the 'Auto-Hide' option?

Right click the taskbar > properties > Taskbar. "Auto-hide the taskbar"
