So since I got to college, I can't use AIM's send file function to receive files from my friends. A lot of us write music and send it to each other, so we use sites like Megaupload to do it when my school network is being a dick.
Unfortunately, Megaupload is now jerking out on me. Whenever I try to download anything from it (usually rar'd or zipped, but regardless of filetype), the download finishes immediately. When I try to open the RAR, it says unexpected end of archive and contains only one of the files, but the file is 0 bits. This has been happening consistently for months now. We've started to use other services like mediafire and stuff, but I'd really like to know why this is happening. I used Megaupload a lot over the summer and had no problems, and a bit at the beginning of college, but now it doesn't work here OR at home.
Megaupload sometimes does similar things for me. I am not sure why. Something I do suggest though, is to each make a purevolume account. They are free, and actually pretty good. You can stream, and download songs from it. Make a free account and try it out .
Try and have your downloads go through a download manager. I find http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ to be good, plus you can have it run automatically when anything is downloaded.
I using a download manager that supports download resumption helps as the manager is then intelligent enough to know when the file hasn't downloaded properly and tries to download the relevant parts. Personally, I've had problems downloading files from sites as you describe, where the file for some reason doesn't properly start downloading and just registers as complete. I don't know about Megaupload, but I doubt it's specific to that since I've had similar problems sometimes.

Thanks, though.
