Is my Wii dying? Technical help requested.

I know all the cool kids have breaking 360s, but I think I've got a problem with a Nintendo product--and here I thought they were bulletproof!

A few days ago, my launch-day Wii would play games off of a disc only "hesitantly"--the game would stop for a while whenever something needed to be loaded. Today things seemed to be running fine for most of the day, but it did it very slightly after several hours of play. VC games seem to work fine. So far as I can tell, nothing is different between the two days--on day 1 it didn't like to load things and on day 2 it doesn't seem like such a big deal.

- Is my Wii dying, or is it some more minor issue? I thought it might be a heat thing, but I don't have WiiConnect 24 on and it isn't particularly warm to the touch.

- Does anyone know what an out-of-warranty repair would cost, and if I get my own back or a refurbished one?

Did you register your wii online? You would get 3 more months of warranty if you did.

Mine too had had problems with discs, mainly Zelda. It seems after loading a zone, it needs me to "eject and clean" the disc when it needs to load again. The disc is fine and works on other Wii's. I need to call Nintendo and send them my Wii but I'm lazy and have been playing to much Geometry Wars.

I'd call them and find out. Nintendo is usually very helpful and might do it for free.
