I know PS3 is a region free console. I could buy a copy of Orange Box from Play Asia RIGHT NOW for half the local RRP. What is stopping me, aside from alleged tech issues?
Well, since you ask, it is the issue of compatibility with my PSN here. If I buy the Asian or USA version, will I be locked on to play USA or Asian servers if I have a PAL PS3? Or will I be region locked according to my PSN account location? Or (ideally) is there no region locking whatsoever?

1) The servers are global (COD4, Resistance now, Warhawk)
2) The servers are region locked to whichever PS3 you've got (Resistance at launch)
3) The servers are region locked to whichever version of the game you've got (Motorstorm at release?)
I'm pretty sure Orange Box's servers are global though, so I don't think you'll have any problems.
