What's the thing you want most for X-mas? For me the perfect gift would be a trip to China. That or an entire day to myself to play Mass Effect... China seems easier to do.

I'd like to have one of those guys in Aqua di gio commercials. Just like, as a pet.

realistically, though, I'll be getting my orange box. And maybe a hand me down Ipod video.

For Christmas I'd like nothing more than any next gen console and a large screen plasma, but for now I'll have to be content with the gift of eliminating one of the credit cards that have been haunting me for 3 years. 1 down, 2 to go.

I would want a new car. That would be my perfect gift...and I don't mean a new 2008 car with all the doodads...I mean, just a different car than I currently have, i.e. one that doesn't suck.

A Xbox 360 with a copy of Mass Effect would be kinda nice. Or the ability to buy a nice house to live in.

But I'm just gonna hope for my usuals of books and cds/dvds/games. As long as nobody gets creative with my wishlists, I should be good.

are potato pancakes the american equivelant to potato scones in scotland?

I went to see the RSNO (Royal Scottish National Orchestra) play ye olde classical/baroque and christmas carols. It was immensly cool! They were all dressed up in the period clothing with the white wigs and it was all candle-lit. Kind of like MTV Unplugged, except 17th Century Baroque Unplugged.

It was so amazing and gave me so many ideas for writing. Like i came up with this story while i was listening to the music and I really want to write something about it. I hope santa puts a recording studio in my stocking this christmas!

And on potato pancakes, I don't think I've truly ever had them here in the US. Only place I've actually ever had them was in South Korea, and they were damn delicious.

I miss potato waffles. I haven't had one since I was 5, never seen them for sale anywhere either. :(

    The following nobody cares about:
I know the live action Dragonball movie is pretty much destined to be a clusterfuck of what the fuck regardless, but apparently they just cast Chow Yun Fat as Master Roshi. I...really don't know what to make of that, it's hard to imagine Officer Tequila as a dirty old man with a ZZ top beard and browsing girly-mags with an anthropomorphic pig, but maybe I just have a poor imagination.

In any case, this information means that at least 5 minutes of this movie should prove to be entertaining on a sheer 'what the hell' kind of level.

EDIT: If anybody cares about what I think about things like 80's cartoon megahit Jem or Radar Men From the Moon or maracas, I updated the blog in my sig. I have no clue why anybody would, but the chances are good somebody is going to read it anyway.

Sweet, pity money! My rich cousins had no idea I had been admitted to hospital until a little while ago, and it earned me a hundred dollar gift voucher for borders (book store) in the mail.

Anyone got any book recommendations? I haven't read a good fantasy/sci-fi novel in ages (mediocre ones, yes, but no great ones). I think they stock a fair few graphic novels too, and maybe even some decent art books.
