Battlefeild 2142 Issues

I bought this game before I even had my new computer, just in anticipation.

I know it aint even that good, but I still have been looking forward to playing it.


The new patch, I take it, is 1.40 with Highway Tampa.

This is a rather large patch.


Do I truly need to install this before I can contact the EA master server to register an account?
It keeps saying the server is timed out, possibly for totally different reasons.

possibly, dunno how picky the servers are about old versions making new accounts. Also make sure you manually update punk buster if your running Vista, I've had issues with the in-game auto-update just simply not working.

Hey there. I had problems w/ punk buster too. When I had it on my rig w/ bootleg of XP, it let me play 4 a whole minute b4 loosing enough packets to kick me. When I upgraded to Vista I don't get to see a pixel b4 I get kicked. My setup is I run it through a router w/ cat5(ethernet). I tried everything. Manual updating PB, run as admin, but I don't know how to change NAT stuff. Can some1 with L337 tech skills please advise?

My favorite thing about BF2142 is how I can run the game on Windows 2000, but I can't buy the expansion on it.

Yes. Can't buy it.

They only allow you to order it through some shitty program that whatever the fuck I don't know. Point is, that one flat-out refuses to install on Windows 2000 for Gof-knows why. Without installing that, it's impossible for me to buy the expansion.

So, yeah, they can go fuck themselves for that.
