I recently updated to the newest Nvidia drivers for my videocard (a Geforce 7950 GT), and ever since then, any videos I play, in any type of video player, are dark as hell. I have tried futzing with every setting I can find but can't find a fix. It's weird, because the little preview thumbnail in the windows explorer window actually looks like it has the right level of brightness, but then the video itself will be ridiculously dark. Anyone have any advice for this?

I had difficulty with my 5900 XT and I had to roll back the driver until Nvidia came out with an update to the update... :x

This will hopefully happen sooner than later since you have a popular video card. The more people it affects the more likely the'll come out with a patch or a new version update.

    good luck.

Try turning off hardware acceleration. (right click on desktop > Properties > Settings Tab > Advanced > Troubleshoot Tab> slide the slider to the left.

If this fixes the video it's a driver issue. If not, then I have no idea :O

Hopefully you haven't tried that yet.
