1. Is the Halo 3 disc replacement thing still on? (were Msoft will fix your disc for free..)
2. If so, will Msoft fix it for free if the disc was already scratched, and THEN scratched again by the 360's faultyness?

1. yes. Runs till Feb 1, 2008, for the super expensive Halo 3: Legendary.
2. I'm not sure. Maybe neglect to mention to them that it was the 360 that scratched it. While you're at it, why don't you get your 360 sent in for repairs so it doesn't scratch any more discs
I was under the impression it was only the Limited Edition (the middle one) - that was the one with the crappy case that didn't hold the disk right, letting it slide all over the place

I don't think there's a time limit after you purchased it, or any sort of restriction on why the scratching occurred
