Even funnier is when I remind people to defend IB GY, and like a paladin and 3 rogues stay with me.
I announce in /say "Today, the role of 'bait' will be played by ______", and then any opposition that tangle with us are usually pretty much fucked if they bother to stop and try to retake the GY.

Hehe, I used to do that in BG's with my Gnome Mage. Because, hey, who is going to pass up the chance to gank a lone Gnome?
Usually it worked as Roguebait. I'd sit next to a flag/ Graveyard Cap point/ etc (OMG HE'S SITTING!!!1!11) They'd start doing their thing, I'd Ice Block and my stealthed buddies would mop them up. Good Times.

I believe your only option here is to shame them. If any women are in the guild make sure they are around, it will make the shaming more effective. They will either grow a pair or take their own lives if you do it right.
they're all "but u need t5 to do za we cant do eet"
Im all /facepalm
T5 will make it easier but it's not impossible.
this is what I'm saying.
I'm not asking for a full clear + every timed chest in a single night. But we should at least be attempting it. I believe they tried it once before and gave up on the first boss after a number of wipes. I think the problem was probably that a lot of our members have crap gear (easily fixed with our weekly kara clears, with two separate groups) and/or just don't fucking listen, as evidenced by our last couple attempts on Gruul. We however do have a great MT in some SSC gear, and a couple great healers in full epic kara gear. thats like, half of what we need for ZA right there.
just have a mandatory requirement of 75% epics for signing up, and then give ZA a shot.
unfortunately no one listens to me, being a mere initiate (for several months now with a near perfect raid attendance). not to mention I'd be eliminating myself with that requirement, since I just switched specs.
Wait, tier 5?
My guild struggles on Prince and Gruul and we got the first four bosses down. It's tricky, but as long as people listen and do as they're told, it's perfectly doable.
I kind of sort of but not really miss camping whatever that camp is on the far east end of Tirisfal with me stealthed on my druid along with Cerrius and Cession lying in wait to stab all the dudes riding by on their mounts, occasionally with me popping out of stealth as a lowly druid(before feral was awesome) as bait.
Heh. Back before BC we used to have a lowbie night elf running around flagged outside of Org a couple of times a week.
Him and that shadowmelded night elf hunter in T3.
Something similar happened to me once when I pugged SFK. We just arrived at the instance and we noticed this level 6 cat standing on the bridge. Not knowing much about the game at the time, I attacked it, instantly flagging and having a level 60 hunter (because when they are skulls, they are obviously level 60! ) start attacking me. The healer of our group threw his shield on me, flagging himself for PVP also. Whole group died and we weren't even inside the instance.

Said T3 hunter was pretty shitty actually. I was a mage at the time -- I polymorphed him, killed his pet, and then he couldn't do shit as I wore him down.
Me, rogue, shadow priest, warlock get into the same AV.
We go to Galvangar. And we just defend him. After ten minutes of wiping alliance ignores him and apparently juts goes "well shit, we can't continue to Frostwolf unless we kill Galvangar!" and just mill around without aim.
We had one win with all our points up and killed the stunty, and the second win with all points up and victory via reinforcements. 2.8k honor for two games.
And tonight we broke 10k raid-wide DPS on Gruul. Yeah, we're ready for SSC.

It's up on youtube if you can handle watching low quality.

Tanks have resist gear yet?
We have the frost resist set built, just need a bunch of primal life and we have the nature set as well.
Then don't skip Hydross. Assuming your DPS doesn't make a regular habit of inspecting their own colons then it's just a matter of burning him down.

i loathe SSC. From the constant jumping under water and general faggotry of Lurker, to the oh god i healed and wiped the raid bullshit of hydross, to the whirlwind shit on leotheras, to the huge packs of murlocs on morogrim, to the oh god i dont even need to continue.
For lurker, I remember a lot of people saying to jump in the water during a spout right?
But I watched a "how to" video, and everyone just ran around the platform instead of jumping in the water.

Worst raid instance ever.
The SSC boss fights aren't too bad, it's the damn trash. Too much trash. Way too much trash. But the boss fights are actually pretty good. Hydross isn't a random fight, it's just fucking annoying due to resist gear. Lurker requires people not just stand there, but other then that it's pretty trival. Leo is a great example of misdirection in raid design. And I do love Morogrim as a Paladin tank.
Resist fights? Man fuck that shit. I thought Blizzard realized how fucking retarded that whole concept was and left it out of BC.
They don't rely on them as much as they used to, and they seem to just want to punish tanks with them more then the whole raid. So far the only real resist fight I've run into is Hydross. But we've been focusing on MH rather then BT.

SSC is relatively easy.
Our guild one-shots HKM, Gruul and Mag every Wednesday night during a single flask duration. thats consistent. Since we downed Gruul for the first time two months ago, we've never failed to one-shot him, and since we downed Magtheridon a month ago we've only had one instance where we two-shotted him.
Went into SSC for the first time last night to Hydross. First attempt was 96%. Second was 75%. Third was 35% and the fourth attempt we got him down.
Lurker on Monday. We'll kick his ass.
Hmm..blinking through the Spout you say? I might talk to my mages and see if we can coordinate to do that.

Yeah, Hydross only requires 1 MT with ~360 frost resistance, 1 MT with ~360 nature resist, and 2-3 offtanks with mixed resist of ~150 each type. We had three of said offtanks, as we started collecting resist gear as soon as we cleared Kara.
There are lots of fights where resistance is HELPFUL, but Hydross is the only one that requires it on anyone, and it is at least only on the tanks, so GETTING the resist gear becomes an effort for the guild, as opposed to pre-BC, where each individual member had to spend their own time making their own resist set.

Yeah but blink is proskilz.
haha. What is with Vashj and her elevators?
That giant one at the beginning of SSC? Wiped half the raid before we even got buffed up, because we had never been in there before.
I'm a fire mage too, so I don't have Ice Block (yet). So I used the leet mage blink trick to avoid the fall damage.
Our healers were not so fortunate.

We actually do Hydross with six tanks (One Frost/One NR, Four OTs) but we run caster heavy and can burn them down with AoE.
Leo will require a lock with FR gear. Kael also needs a lock with FR. And from there you don't need any resist stuff till BT.

Yep, we got the warlock geared too...We stopped doing Kara a while back, but in the last four weeks we cleared it fully for him, as well as doing the heroic daily every day, giving him badges to buy the Infernoweave rewards. And getting me a lot of my heroic rewards too
We run fairly caster heavy...we only have one melee group, the rest are all casters. We run with five warlocks, its fantastic.
