My boomkin is sitting at 935 +damage and a bit over 20% crit without ever raiding and I smoke fucking everybody in heroics. And I don't pull agro. And I still don't have the resto subtlety talent.
I have little doubt that if I respec'd to raid and got some even hotter gear I could fucking ruin people on the charts.
If you have geared/spec'd boomkins pulling agro they're probably dumb and unloading huge starfire crits at the start of the fight when they should be dropping an insect swarm and a moonfire and waiting 5-10 seconds. And if they're pulling agro period they're pretty stupid anyway since Omen takes all the skill and finesse out of agro management.
I remember back in the day raiding MC/BWL on my rogue and having to feel that shit out on my own.. those were the days of knowing who was actually good DPS and who sucked and pulled agro all the fucking time..
It's not updated to show a cloak upgrade and ring swap. And of course 935 is after throwing wizard oil on my weapon and eating and with AI. But 935 nonetheless~
edit x2.. and I could be 22 damage higher easily if I was willing to waste a head enchant on a hat I'm itching to replace with a spellstrike hood.. if I could ever find one.

I tell you what.
You and me both, learning which of your tanks was worth half a shit, which you had to give extra time on, and which ranged were likely to fuck up your day something fierce.
I learned every instance at an appropriate time, and didn't even touch KTM until AQ40/Naxx, so hooray.
Edit: I will conceed that quality Boomkins exist; however, they quite rare in my experience.
Forar on
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
I should probably point out that I'm not saying moonkin are gods of DPS. I'm just saying that a lot of people still think they suck when they don't anymore. If they would just let cyclone not have DR in PvE or let root work indoors (works for the elves in Botanica~) we would be a super hardcore class.
I also have an elemental shaman creeping up on +800 spell damage and even now I think I could give my moonkin a run for his money in damage, but of course no way to test it. Elemental just feels fucking crazy with 35% crit and overload procs.
Boomkins still have aggro problems with the aggro reduction talent and salvation?
That's about as much aggro reduction as a shadow priest has, and boomkins don't have a high aggro nuke, nor do they generate extra aggro with the healing thing. What are your tanks using, pitchforks with mongoose on them?
We have a priest in the guild who is absolutely insane about his robot. :P
I know a priest like this as well, named Strem.
You can PW:S your robot to make it invincible for a while. BoP works as well, but unfortunately the missiles are magic damage >.>
I found that out when I picked up the robot with my mage and saw a night elf priest's killing everyone elses and living
THey had buffed it with fort and would sheild it keeping up a heal over time on it while walking around

I have only ran with one moonkin since TBC since most want to go pvp or arena
The only fight that they kept pulling agro on was the Illhoof after they picked up the lighting trinket
We had a sole Boomkin in my old guild. He was very well geared for the content we were doing. Did great damage in 5 mans and Kara, but yeah, threat problems. He'd be at the top of the charts up until Prince, and he would languish in the middle/ bottom for Gruul. And that's with being put in the caster buff group o' doom.
So Echo, you stole that from the HB forums or did you end up with them afterall? Also, welcome if there's another EU MG'er among us (Probably more Horde scum, but what can you do?). Boomkins.... I've never seen one that can get close to the real top DPS. Then again, my current guild's druid CL hates them with a passion, so we're never gonna see one geared up in t6 equivalent or somesuch, just to try it out.
Hilarity of the week: A warlock applying to us coming right after levelling to 70 (Some 400 spelldamage, 15% crit), the warlock CL trying to be nice and give some advice about gear and talents (both of which were a mess), and the warlock apparently not getting the point that maybe an Illidan farming guild is not the best guild to join if you never raided before. Then he gets angry that we are not willing to gear him up.
So theres a guildie who's been in my guild for a few weeks now, and he irritates me to no end. He types like a 5 year old and every other thing he says is either "Cn sum1 run me thru ulda/zf/sm/wherever is level appropriate for him at the time" or "how much is X worth?" where X is something like an of the boar or whale green or a grey.
Tonight I saw this in gchat, and everything I'd thought about him suddenly made sense.
He then proceeded to talk about how much he missed the chuck norris jokes and about how much he missed playing hordeside...

Hmm...lessee...I have yet to run a Heroic or any raids, but the 70 5-mans I've been in are a quite fun. The only person to yet out damage my DOOMKIN was a warlock with some nice epix. Either the rogue with epix sucked...or I know my shit, cuz I beat them by 5% =P. My gear is nowhere near perfect, but I'd like to think I know what to do. As soon as I get Omen...no more threat pulling yey!
P.S. when I was an officer in my last guild they leadership loved me so much I could kick anyone newer than a week that gave me shit about being a "oomkin"....god I loved kicking those asses.

Oi, what's wrong with us horde scum? We're ever so pretty and nice. And dear lord Moonglade is wierd when you come from Silvermoon, a lack of competing progression guilds really alters a server economy.

Nah, still in Archaic Legion. But a bunch of our people went to Bonerhound when we imploded back in March, and we had a long chat on vent last night and that pic popped up in the conversation.

Oh man. That's the best Spoonerism I've seen all week. It can't compare to Wark of the Mild, though.

Poor Alendi.
Poor him nothing, bastard had a set of epic gear for anything he could possibly want to do by the time he quit.
Also, I stole his rock for Gruul.

Can I ask for some help? Just hit 60 and want to grab my epic mount, but I'm still 200 gold off. So, what kind of grinding do people suggest for getting that 200 gold at level 60? I was thinking about getting a PVP epic, but out of the 17 or so AV's I've been in I've managed to see 1 win, so getting marks isn't easy
So...what's a good place to level horde-side at level 42? I've done most of the quests I can find in Badlands, and most of the Tanaris and Feralas quests are orange. I know I somehow did this on my main, but that was almost a year ago. Any help?

I just "tag" posts with something short and relavent. It's not that hard to read the current page and contribute to the conversation at hand.
Also I have banked my rat and wolpintinger or whatever that hybrid rabbit/bird/deer thing is called, in favor of the robot.

And Boomkins can dps effectively if geared properly and played properly and offer a nice barrel of buffs/tricks.
Battleres/Innervate/Shift and heal if needed and then the 5% crit is always nice for the caster group
You have to start off the raid by having everyone stand up while you sing it over Vent, though.
No, no, fuck YOU! ... I got nuttin' else. It's been a long day. I need a cookie. And a hug. :-(

Once I switched over to protection paladin tanking, though, took a crash course on threat and aggro and practiced up on it as quickly as I could.

According to Blizzard, Paladins are melee hybrids and secondary healers.
So holy paladins are kind of off-spec, I guess.
