Backing things up.

I just went and bought myself a new 250gig HDD to replace the one I lost about six months ago, which is supplementing my internal 80-gig drive and holding all of my media and stuff that gets shared across the network.

This leaves me with not one, but two extra 80-gig HDDs. I have a USB enclosure, and I'd like to stop being a fucking idiot and start backing up my important shit on one of the drives. I'd prefer an automated process, but what do you recommend? I'd rather not pay for Ghost if I can avoid it, as I would prefer a free program that is capable of doing it for me whenever I ask it to, and because I find that most Norton software is goddamn ridiculously bloated with unnecessary crap.

Any good free backup programs out there for XP?

I've got a list of freeware programs bookmarked on my computer, so when I leave my parent's house I'll give it a looksie for you.

    ntbackup + task scheduler

Both are included with Windows XP.

    awesome, thanks.

(anyone else wanting to use this, XP Home doesn't ship with ntbackup pre-installed, you have to get it off your XP disk or download it from here)
