Problems Keeping Wii Online

I bought myself a Wii for Christmas, and ended up buying a new (wireless) router when I found out I needed an adapter to hook it up to my wired one. It's a Linksys WRT150n. My problem is that I can connect to the thing fine and get online to check out the wii shopping channel etc... until I turn the wii off. Every time I turn the wii off it can't connect to the net when I turn it back on and I have to go and setup the connection all over again.

At first I though it was a problem with my router, but there's a few open wireless nodes in my building that I quickly used instead of my own router and I get the same problem. It connects fine until I turn it off.

Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks for any help!

my first guess is that the router (or routers) assign a dynamic IP, while your Wii is looking for a static IP, and not always finding it.

What do you have to do, specifically, to "set up the connection again"?

I had to clear settings and find an access point etc. all over again. The problem was it couldn't find the access point I used when it turned back on and it wouldn't list that access point again until I cleared internet settings and did it from scratch.

I was just testing this and now all of a sudden everything works fine. No idea why it's working now... I haven't changed anything.

I think I'll give it some time and try again in an hour or so and see if it still works.

    Thanks for the reply!
