Right, so I'm trying to track down a copy of the Unaltered Original Trilogy, the one they released a year or so ago.

I'm having a little trouble, because I don't want to accidentally buy the Altered DVD Trilogy that I already have. (yes I know, but I want the unaltered DVDs, no need getting into that)

I'm seeing a couple of different versions.

There's the 4-Disc Altered DVD Collection that looks like this...

Then there's this 3-Disc collection that has no back-description so I can't tell if it's the altered or unaltered movies. I didn't know if they were just selling a cheaper version of the Altered DVDs without the bonus disc.

It looks like this...

So can anyone help me figure out which ones I need?

I believe I have the first one and that is the altered version.

Right, I do too, and thanks Jasc. I just wasn't sure if the 2nd picture was the unaltered DVD set, or if it was just a repackaging of the 1st.

I got a set of the two-disc SE/theatrical versions for Christmas. No box set. As far as I'm aware, that was the only way to get the good versions. Maybe I missed something somewhere, but the realization that they wouldn't put out a nice theatrical set was, while intensely irritating, not particularly surprising.

Oh. I always thought there was a set of the unaltered DVDs, but yeah, I see many are saying they're sold separately and packaged with the altered versions.

The second's a repackaging of the first without the special features, if I remember right.

For the unaltered versions, I have the VHS trilogy from when they did that 'own the originals one last time' promotion.

Oh that's right, now I remember, the only way you can get your hands on the old ones now is if you buy them packaged up with the new ones.

I don't think they put out an unaltered version as a box set since DVD's came about.
