    Nah. Colin is cheating.

Each victory with Colin is ill-earned.

Colin is rubbish in small maps and me and my mates usually played those in our free time. In campaign mode, he isn't that hot either when you're aiming for a good score. Also, worst CO theme ever?

Kanbei is where it's at. I try and vary it up a bit more these days, but when the computer angers me, I go Elite.

Inflated ego from (almost) beating the entire War Room with the worst Commanding Officer. Style points.

I like Sonja more for concept than the execution. In practice, she's a terrible C.O. because one of her advantages is not present on every map, and the other simply does not work against AI opponents. Rather than go through the monumental task of making an AI that is capable of "pretending" to be tricked by Sonja's passive ability, like a human would be, Intelligent Systems just opted to give Sonja a fairly quick-charging brute force Super C.O. Power, which says enough of how badly the counter-intelligence specialist worked in single player Advance Wars.

The concept is attractive, though. Where every other C.O. merely has bigger numbers by some factor, playing a character who is worse in every measurable respect, but has the capability to trick the opponent into wasting units and entire turns fighting phantoms has an undeniable appeal.

    1. I <3 Lin
    2. that tidbit about all the maps being FoW might make her actually useful (and the toning down of passive stat changes from COs)

Colin/Sasha with appropriate forces. Holy fuck did I hate forces. Tag COs was neat, but I felt like gearing my COs diluted their unique features.

Not to mention that certain CO combinations raise luck depending on affinity and get power modifications during tag powers. Colin and Sasha is one of those combinations that get tremendous bonuses.

Personally, I avoid shit like that and raise an eyebrow to whoever abuses it. I do admit it is pretty fun to obtain victory by using Eagle and Sami's tag power. Once.

The absolute low point of Dual Strike though in my opinion is altering the war room. I don't mean trivial stuff like opponents, but actually altering maps by including factories to your advantage. What they did to Spann Island is a sin.

At least it takes forever and a day to get an Eagle/Sami tagpower. I'm still irked about Sensei in Dual Strike. Not to shit on Dual Strike, but things were getting way over the top, and the new COs were getting lamer as far as abilities go. Three COs that get +10% on specific terrain with no weakness? Christ, that is DULL.

They're the only country in the entire world that's had atomic bombs dropped on them. Surely some bits of that incident must have survived in the cultural memory?

Or have I just uncovered the real reason for all those 'amnesiac' plots? :P

I thought I was the only one that wondered about this.

And their view of war changed to sunshine and rainbows after it was dropped?

Oh Kanbei how I love you. That was the only thing that made me sad about the new game I wouldnt be using Kanbei like I have in every us released wars game. Im glad the tag co-powers are out I enjoy using them but hate when I am hit with it. Will be nice to see the series redesigned though i tmakes me sad because I love the art style. Gameplay wise though I hope some units get axed stupid megatank.

I know my favorite unit wont be in the game doesnt really need to be but my play style just adapted and clung to black boats like they were god.

    New screenshots.

Apparently, there's only room for 12 COs. I'm not sure there'll be room for the two other amnesiac girls. Or... they're the same girl zomg.

Or it could be that you're just limited to using 12 COs during the campaign.

Also, she is definitely the older sister of the girl with the teddies right?

Will has some traits of Adder, Brenner has Andy's, Lin has Sonja's and Isabella has Grit's. They're simple and practical, yet not too game breaking and within the boundaries of military warfare. I mean, summoning a tidal wave that magically evaporates fuel isn't something that would fit here.

Besides, I'd call the CO zones as new. You can't expect all your units to have the same bonuses anymore.

So do I understand correctly that every map has Fog of War? That really sucks, I hate the FoW missions in the previous games.

CO gets warped back to the HQ to grab another ride.
...I'm sort of bummed. I mean, I know that it was getting ridiculous, but just going ahead and killing off everyone? This game needs some sort of fan service at the end, either a Sami/Eagle kid who runs in at random and captures everything while taking ten turns in a row, or zombie Grit.
Did you hear that developers? Zombie Grit. You've already got clones and some sort of secret organization, make it happen. Also, have him save the day.
... ITT I just realized that these characters will probably live on for decades in fanfiction.
